YOUR SKIN CARE & PREPARATION
Smooth, healthy, cared-for skin is the magic that makes all our makeup look fabulous. Even a $70. foundation will not make bad skin look good. The purpose of makeup is to enhance - this is video makeup, not stage makeup, we aren't COVERING ourselves, we are REVEALING our beauty.
PRIME & COLOR CORRECT
Learn how to pick a primer that meets your skin and makeup needs. There are pore-filling primers, primers that make you glowy, or give a super sophisticated matte look. What are your needs? Have some skin discoloration? Under eye circles? Color correction is magic. If you have sallow skin, you can make it brighter. If you have redness and sensitivity, you can make that disappear. I have the solution for you.
YOUR CONCEALER
Concealer is NOT the same as color correction. Concealer can disguise undereye circles, but not the way a peachy shade can make them literally disappear. Too much concealer looks awful, delicate layering will make you shine!
YOUR FOUNDATION
Foundation is the valuable blender that makes your whole look work. You will see in this video, how little foundation I use. The brush you use will also make a huge difference.

Q: This is an awful lot of make-up! Won’t I look like some floozy on camera?
A: Nope! First of all, YOU have control as to how much makeup you want to wear, so if you feel that it’s too much for you, then tone it down. But, I’m certain you’ll find that it’s just enough to help you look your youngest, most beautiful self. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it!
Q: I’m in my 70’s. Can these makeup tips help me?
A: Absolutely! In fact, you may find that by following my tutorial, you haven’t looked this good in many, many years. As we slowly age, we tend to continue our same makeup regime as we did 30, 40 and maybe even 50 years ago. But, our faces have certainly changed and we need to gently erase the bags, wrinkles and discolorations that have shown up. It’s easy to do, just follow my videos.
Q: I wear bangs. Do I still have to do my eyebrows?
A: Yes. Even though they may not be obvious, there will be times as you talk that parts of your eyebrows will show through your bangs and you want them to be as expressive as possible.
Q: I don’t have a lot of time to do my makeup like this. In fact, I’ve never spent this much time on my face. Are there any short cuts?
A: Well, the skin care should be done in the evening, which may only require a little more moisturizer in the morning. And then I have included a video entitled “The 8 Minute Face” which shows you how to get camera-ready in just a few minutes. I’d say that’s a super shortcut, how about you?
Q: Do I have to buy a whole bunch of new makeup in order to do this?
A: Even though I give you some suggestions on products I’ve found to be very helpful, chances are good that you can use your own makeup stash to create very similar results to what I show you.
Q: What if I don’t have time to re-watch all the videos and I can’t remember what to do before I go on camera?
A: That’s exactly why I created the accompanying workbook to go along with the videos. You can easily and quickly refer back to it if you need to.
